Again, attached is a summery of water testing
INTERPRETATION OF BORINGS AND MONITORING
The soil lithology forthe Vogue Cleaners site is characterized by alternating layers of clays and silts
that are cut and filled with sand lenses. There is a sand lense at 70' depth,at 50' depth, and at 25'
depth Attached is a 24"x36" isometric crossection of the site to a depth of 75'
The culmination of past monitoring events indicate that there is a plume of BTEX and TPHg at a
depth of 50'and approximately 20'thick The BTEX and TPHg plume contains about 7 3L(2gaI)of
Benzene and about 371 L(98gal)of TPHg
There is a second plume which contains 1,2-DCA The I,2-DCA plume is at a depth of 70' and
approximately 25'thick The 1,2-DCA plume contains about 27L(7gal)of 1,2-DCA Attached is
a plan view showing the limits of the two plumes
The plumes are contaminants that have dissolved into the water The plumes is not free product
moving within the soil particles
RECEPTOR SURVEY
The receptor survey is attached The Receptor Survey indicates that there are no drinking water
wells within 2,000'of Vogue Cleaners, but there are three irrigation wells within the 2,000' They
are as follows
Owner Pump Use
I St Joseph's Hospital 20HP Irrigation Only
2 San Joaquin County Catholic Cemetery I5HP Irrigation Only
3 Stockton Rural Cemetery 50HP Irrigation Only
4 Vogue Cleaners 1/414P None Functional
At the time this report was written, it was discovered that Vogue Cleaners has an existing well
inside the building that has been non-functioning for sometime
NATURAL ATTENUATION
The trend lines on the attached graphs show that natural attenuation is takmg place at a rate of about
6% per year
CONCLUSION
Of the listed constituents with consistent positive results, the only ones that remain over EPA
MCL's are Benzene, and 1,2-DCA The constituents have experienced a natural attenuation of
about 6% per year It is also expected for this downward trend to continue Due to the distance,
position, and use of existing wells, the risk to the public is very low The level of risk to the public
can be further reduced by placing a new monitoring well to the East to determine the Easterly
boundary of the plume
3
