This work is being conducted in response to the San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department letter dated November 17, 2003 (Attachment A). The letter approved the use of the <br /> SVE/AS system as an interim remedial measure at the site. <br /> This workplan includes a brief discussion of site background and previous investigations, <br /> proposed scope of work, and schedule. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located on the south3eN4eSorner of North California Street and Alpine Street in <br /> Stockton, California,.as shown on the site location map (Figure 1). The locations of the existing <br /> underground storage tank (UST) cavity, dispenser islands, and other select site features-are <br /> shown on the generalized site plan (Figure 2). The site currently operates as a gasoline station <br /> and mini-mart. Facilities include two 20,000-gallon double-wall fiberglass gasoline USTs with <br /> associated product lines and two dispenser islands (Figure 2). ; <br /> i <br /> Previous Investigations <br /> Environmental work completed at the site to date includes the following: <br /> + August—September 1995: EMCON witnessed the installation of six vertical soil borings (B-1, <br /> B-3,B4,B-5, B-7, and B-8)and two 45°angle borings (B-2 and B-6). Three borings(B-1,B4, <br /> and B-5) were converted to monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3, respectively).
