s
Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2012 9:18 AM
To: 'Francini, Catherine'
Subject: RE: ARCO No. 2186 at 3212 California Street
Good morning Catherine,
Thank you for this update. Adrienne Ellsaesser, Program Coordinator, will be out of the office for two
months beginning 28 November 2012. It is best that any issues concerning the well destructions be
resolved before she leaves.
Our agency sent a letter dated 13 November 2012, directing that the permit application and fees for the
remaining five well destructions be submitted within the next 30 days and the well destructions be
completed by 17 January 2013. 1 hope this timeline works for you.
Thunk you, again, and best regards,
Vicki.McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-9852
Email: vmccartney c4sjcehd.com
From: Francini, Catherine [mailto:Catherine.Francini@stantec.com]
Sent: Wednesday, November 14, 2012 7:59 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Cc: Egger, Brian; Walsh, Thomas (Rancho Cordova)
Subject: RE: ARCO No. 2186 at 3212 California Street
Hi Vicki,
We are in the process of verifying issues and coming up with solutions to destroy the five
remaining wells at ARCO 2186. As you know the wells remaining on-site are the wells that have
major safety risks because of utilities, distance to the tank pit, or feasibility (as with MW-1D). Our
main focus has been to come up with a way to remove the top 3 feet of the steel conductor
casing of MW-1D. We believe we have found a way and are in the process of addressing the risks
before we begin the work. Once we complete the risk packet and submit to BP,they will review it
with their safety department, then approve us to go into the field to complete the work. As any
questions come up i will let you know.
Thanks and regards,
Cat
Catherine Francini
Project Manager
Stantec
3017 Kilgore Road Suite 100
Rancho Cordova CA 95670
Ph: (916)384-0782
Fx: (916)861-0430
Cell: (916) 719-5269
11/15/2012
