Laboratory Analysis of Soil Samples
Selected soil samples were analyzed for:
Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M;
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTEX)in accordance with EPA Method
8260B; and
• The fuel additives 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) ;and ethylene .dibromide (EDB) in
accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
3.1.5. Monitoring Well Development
On 23 August 2004,monitoring well MW-1 was developed utilizing a Watera inertial pump.Ground
water was purged until ground water was visually sediment free.Approximately 18 gallons of water
were removed. Ground water temperature,pH and conductivitywere measured at regular intervals
during purging using an Oakton water analyzer. Field sheets are included in Appendix C. Purged
water was stored on-site in properly labeled,55-gallon DOT-approved drums.
3.2. QUARTERLY MONITORING PROCEDURES
The quarterly groundwater monitoring event was performed on 25 August and 08 October 2004.
`~ 3.2.1. Well Monitoring and Evacuation
On 25 August and 08 October 2004,the depth to ground water'm MW-1 was measured from the top
of the well casing to the nearest 0.01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter.
After the water level was measured, 8.0 gallons of water(a minimum of 3 casing-water volumes)
were purged from monitoring well MW-1 on 25 August and 5.25 gallons were purged on 08 October
using a dedicated, disposable plastic bailer. Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were
measured at regular intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer. Field sheets and data
are included in Appendix D. Purged water was stored on-site in properly labeled, 55-gallon
DOT-approved drums.
u Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
Lr .
