ECircle K),is submitting this Workplan <br /> for well abandonment and well replacement at the subject site(Figure 1). The well replacement <br /> program is being conducted following the exposure of wells MW-I and MW-2 in the tank <br /> excavation during the recent removal of the underground storage tanks at the site. The objective <br /> of the program will be to properly abandon both wells and then drill replacement wells nest t <br /> each former well. <br /> Permitting <br /> Circle K submitted a well notification permit application to San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department on December 19, 2011 in the event that wells Nf W-1 or MW-2(or both)were <br /> damaged or exposed during the underground storage tank removal(UST)program at the site. <br /> 7 he application was accepted by the County prior to the UST removal program. Once it was <br /> evident that the wells were exposed within the UST excavation,the County stated that they would <br /> utilize the permit notification and require an additional fee to complete the application for well <br /> abandonment and well replacement. Upon acceptance of this workplan,Circle K will submit the <br /> required additional fees and complete the activities described in the following sections. <br /> Well Abandonment of Exisline Grotudwater Monitoring Wells MW-1 and MW-2 <br /> Groundwater monitoring wells MWA and MW-2 currently exist within two feet of the former <br /> underground storage tank excavation(one on either side),am constructed of 2-inch diameter <br /> PVC,and extend to depths of approximately 26 feet below the ground surface. The wells are <br /> currently contained within traffic-rated well boxes set approximately flush with the ground <br /> surface_ <br /> Both groundwater monitoring wells will be properly abandoned by a licensed driller from WDC <br /> Exploration and Wells from Sacramento,California.
