Methanol was detected in one
sample (well MW-2) in October 8, 1998 at a concentration of 6,800 parts per billion (ppb).
No other detections of the Methanol have been reported over the last eight years.
Additionally, gasoline range organics (GRO), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes
(BTEX) and fuel oxygenates (MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, TBA and ethanol) are analyzed
by EPA Method 8260B, single run, while methanol is analyzed by EPA Method 8015. The
additional methanol analysis costs approximately $6,000 per year and currently doesn't
appear warranted.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
SECOR In rn tiioonnal Incorporated
6`•
Clinton Harms
Senior Scientist
cc: Mr. Ed Ralston, ConocoPhillips
I:\ConocoPhillips\Retail Sites\1205\Misc\change in analysis request.doc
