Quarterly Summary Report _ - ' Third Quarter 1998 Circle K Service Station 41205 16470 Cambridge Street Lathrop, California BACKGROUND The site is an'active Circle K Service Station located at 16420 Cambridge Street in Lathrop, California On November 10, 1997, three underground storage tanks (USTs), product dispensers, and associated product lines were removed from the site Approximately 1,241 tons of hydrocarbon-impacted soil was removed from beneath the USTs and in the area of the new UST pit and transported to Forward Landfill in Stockton for disposal In addition, approximately 17, 000 gallons of hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater was removed from the new UST pit and transported to a permitted facility for treatment Soil samples collected from beneath the former UST complex reported concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) ranging from 130 to 5,800 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) Benzene was reported in two of the six samples collected at concentrations of 0 52 and 3 6 mg/kg Methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MtBE) was reported in two of the six samples at concentrations of 0 19 and 3 6 mg/kg Total lead was not detected in any of the , samples analyzed - Groundwater monitoring Wells MW-1 and MW-2 were installed on August 21, 1998 In addition, one continuous core soil boring was advanced south of the new UST complex in effort to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater I RECENT QUARTER ACTIVITIES • The installation of groundwater monitoring Wells MW-1 and MW-2 and one continuous, core soil boring were performed on August 21, 1998 - • A Remedial Activity Status Report was submitted on August 27, 1998 • Submittal of the Second Quarter 1998 Quarterly Summary Report (QSR) ANTICIPATED NEXT QUARTER ACTIVITIES • Groundwater monitoring Wells MW-3 and MW-4 will be completed • The Fourth Quarter 1998 Sampling event will be conducted • Approximately 12 cubic yards of hydrocarbon impacted soil will be transported off-site to Forward Landfill in Stockton, CA • Submittal of the Groundwater Investigation Report 911-005 1A13Q98_QSR DOC November 9, 1998 -
