.
s •
Advanced L
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. 0 Y
21 October 2004
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0232 OCT 2.
ENVIRO'
Mr. James Barton
California Regional Water Quality Control Board- Central Valley Region
11020 Sun Center Drive,#200
Rancho Cordova, CA 95870-6114
Subject: Addition to Work Plan Addendum-April 2004
FLAG CITY CHEVRON
6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, CA
Dear Mr. Barton:
On behalf of Mr. Richard Bokides of the Bokides Family Limited Partnership (BFLP),Advanced
GeoEnvironmental,Inc.(AGE)has made arrangements with the McDonald's Corporation(property
owners at 6440 West Banner Avenue, Lodi CA) for property access to install one ground water
monitoring well (MW-20); a monitoring well access agreement between BFLP and McDonald's
Corporation is attached with this letter.
In accordance with Work Plan Addendum - April 2004 (dated 14 April 2004), AGE previously
advanced one dual-completed ground water monitoring well(MW-19)on 14 May 2004;the well was
located on the north side of Banner Avenue, approximately 280 feet northeast of the Flag City
Chevron property boundary.Based on the initial analytical results of ground water samples, methyl
tert butyl ether(MTBE)was detected in the water samples collected from MW-19A(10-25 ft) and
MW-19B (45-50 ft) at concentrations of 5,300 µg/1 and 58 µg/1, respectively. Dissolved MTBE
concentrations were confirmed at well MW-19(A and B)during both the 2'Quarter 2004(14 June)
and the Yd Quarter 2004(13 September)ground water monitoring events where MTBE was detected
from MW-19A at concentrations as high as 4,800 µg/1 and from MW-19B at concentrations as high
as 9.5 µg/l. Ground water monitoring well MW-19 analytical results are summarized in Tables 1.
Based on ground water data, there appears to be a third, distinct MTBE-impacted ground water
plume north of the Flag City Chevron, and concentrated in the area of well MW-19. AGE has
concluded that this third MTBE-plume may have vertically migrated from the First Zone(10-35 ft)
near Banner Avenue to the Second Zone (40-60 ft) at the northern Flag City Chevron property
boundary, most likely drawn by ground water extraction activities at the Flag City Chevron site.
Therefore, AGE has prepared this letter as an addendum to the above referenced Work Plan
Addendum -April 2004, to include one additional dual-completed ground water monitoring well
837 Shaw Road,Stockton, California 95215
Telephone(209)467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118
