00 1 <br /> 30 October 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> Page 7of14 <br /> water was transferred to the ground water remediation system holding tank for treatment and <br /> disposal <br /> Single-completion monitoring wells MW-14, MW-15, MW-17, MW-18, MW-19 (A and B) and <br /> multi-level monitoring wells MW-8 through MW-13 were purged utilizing a Watera-Hydro-Lift H <br /> pump equipped with a mechanical arm by lowering and raising a 3/a-inch outer diameter, length- <br /> discrete polyethylene hose equipped with a ball-valve water tip through the top chambers into the <br /> specific water-charged screened section Approximately 5 to 30 gallons of groundwater(a minimum <br /> of three casing-water volumes per well)were purged from the single-completion monitoring wells <br /> and approximately 1'/a to 4%z gallons of groundwater were purged from the multi-level monitoring <br /> wells Temperature, pH and conductivity were measured for stabilization at regular purge-volume <br /> intervals from each well using an Oakton water analyzer Field data and logs are provided in <br /> Appendix F, purged ground water was transferred to the ground water remediation system holding <br /> tank for treatment and disposal <br /> 3 2 GROUND WATER SAMPLING <br /> Ground water samples were collected from the purged wells MW-1 through MW-7 and MW-16 <br /> utilizing new,2-inch diameter disposable polyethylene bailers,ground water samples were collected <br /> from the purged wells MW-8 through MW-15, MW-17, MW-18 and MW-19 utilizing 3/8-inch <br /> diameter polyethylene tubing Ground water samples were transferred into one-liter amber bottles <br /> without a preservative and into 40-m1 EPA-approved volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials <br /> containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative Care was taken to ensure that <br /> visible air bubbles were not present in the vials after filling and capping Ground water sample <br /> containers were labeled with the well designation, date, time, and sampler's initials <br /> 33 LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Each ground water sample was logged on a chain of custody form,placed in a chilled container and <br /> transported to a California DHS-certified laboratory for analysis for <br /> • TPH-g and TPH-d by EPA Methods 5030B/8015Cm and 3510C/8015C, respectively, and <br /> • MTBE by EPA Method 8260B <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
