10 August 2004
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
f Page 10 of 10
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected during this site assessment investigation, AGE recommends
• Due to the uncertainties in the area of well MW-l9 and soil boring P-43, additional soil and
ground water assessment is warranted towards the north, east and west to further define the
third MTBE plume
One additional ground water monitoring well is warranted between Flag City Chevron wells
MW-8 and MW-19, the well should have independent screen intervals through
hydrogeologic units First Water Zone and Second Water Zone AGE has contacted the
adjacent property owner (McDonald's Corporation) to the north at 6440 West Banner
Avenue, and requested permission to install one dual-completed ground water monitoring
well Mr Dave Lamm (Senior Site Acquisition Manager) of McDonald's Corporation
previously stated that installation of one ground water monitoring well on the property would
be acceptable However,Mr Lamm subsequently contacted AGE by email stating that there
is some concern by McDonald's Corporate attorney(s) that if contamination is found on
McDonald's property, then McDonald's Corporation may potentially be held liable for the
clean-up This last correspondence was dated 18 June 2004, AGE has not received further
correspondence regarding approval from McDonald's Corporation since 18 June 2004
6.0.
