J
30 July 2004
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
Utilizing an ICM water analyzer and a YSI-50 dissolved oxygen meter in the field, dissolved oxygen
was monitored at R-2 on the above dates at concentrations between 4 31 mg/1 and 4 92 mg/l, and
from R-I at 4 59 mg/1 EC values were recorded on the same days from R-2 between 168 µmhos/cm
and 919 µmhos/cm and pH values between 7 23.and 7 41, and from R-1 at 60 mhos/cm and 7 35, _ -
respectively Temperatures were measured from R-2 between 20 8 °C and 26 3 °C, and from R-1
at286 °C
Laboratory analysis of R-2 grab water samples collected during the above monthly monitoring events
reported turbidity values at concentrations between 0 3 and 10 nephelometric turbidity units(NTUs),
and from R-1 at 2 7 NTU TDS values of 35 mg/l and 120 mg/1 were reported on 15 June 2003 from
R-1 and R-2, respectively Analytical results are summarized in Table 2, field measurements and
laboratory reports are in Appendix C
2 7 MASS-VOLUME REMOVAL CALCULATIONS
Based on effluent flow meter observations(Appendix A,Table 8), approximately 1,212,292 gallons
of MTBE-impacted water were treated during the second quarter 2004, a total volume of
approximately 26,200,733 gallons of MTBE-impacted water has been treated at the site since the
start-up period in November 2000
The volume of extracted water between 16 March 2004 and 14 April 2004 was equal to 483,301
gallons, which equates to a volume of 1,831,710 liters of processed water Multiplying the average
MTBE concentration(assumed to be 17 gg/l based on the average of the March 2004 and the April
2004 influent grab water samples)by the pounds of extracted MTBE-impacted ground water yields
approximately 0 07 pounds of MTBE removed from MTBE-impacted ground water during this
period (Appendix D)
The volume of extracted water between 14 April 2004 and 13 May 2004 was equal to 325,352
gallons, which equates to a volume of 1,233,842 liters of processed water Multiplying the average
MTBE concentration(assumed to be 17 5 µg/1 based on the average,of the April 2004 and the May
2004 influent grab water samples)by the pounds of extracted MTBE-impacted ground water yields
approximately 0 05 pounds of MTBE removed from MTBE-impacted ground water during this
period(Appendix D)
The volume of extracted water between 13 May 2004 and 15 June 2004 was equal to 403,439
gallons, which equates to a volume of 1,529,033 liters of processed water Multiplying the average
MTBE concentration (assumed to be 17 gg/l based on the average of the May 2004 and the June
2004 influent grab water samples)by the pounds of extracted MTBE-impacted ground water yields
approximately 0 06 pounds of MTBE removed from MTBE-impacted ground water during this
period(Appendix D)
Advanced GeoEnv roamental,Inc
