t2 4 INFLUENT MONITORING RESULTS
In accordance with the requirements ofRWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00-119,
' ground water pump-and-treat influent samples were analyzed for TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE,
methanol, ethanol, DIPE, TAME, ETRE, TBA, 1,2-DCA and EDB
' Influent water samples collected on 27 January, on 24 February and on 25 March 2003 detected
MTBE (by EPA Method 8260) at concentrations of 21 micrograms per liter (µg/l), 41 µg/1 and
83 gg/l, respectively (Table 1) The laboratory analysis did not detect any other petroleum
' constituents of concern Analytical results ofpump-and-treat influent-water samples are summarized
in Table 1, laboratory reports are in Appendix B
25 EFFLUENT MONITORING RESULTS
IIn accordance with the requirements ofRWQCB Monitoring and Reporting Program No 5-00-119,
monthly ground water purnp-and-treat effluent monitoring was performed for flow rate, specific
• conductivity(EC), pH, temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE,
methanol, ethanol,DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA, 1,2-DCA, EDB and nitrate, in addition, a bioassay
was performed on the quarterly effluent sample collected on 25 March 2003
Laboratory analysis of pump-and-treat effluent grab water samples collected on 27 January, on
24 February and on 25 March 2003 did not detect any petroleum constituents of concern, however,
nitrate as NO3 was detected on the above dates at concentrations between 36 mg/1 and 46 mg/l,and
TDS values were reported at concentrations between 530 mg/1 and 569 mg/1 Analytical results are
summarized in Tables 1 and 2, laboratory reports are in Appendices B and C
A bioassay laboratory analysis was performed on the grab sample collected from the effluent stream
on 25 March 2003 The analysis utilized sample factors of 0 milliliter (ml), 125 ml, 500 ml,
1,000 ml, 1,500 ml and 2,000 ml Each sample factor was tested with 20 Fathead minnow fish and
a dilution volume of 2,000 ml of di-ionized water, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature
Parameters were monitored and fish mortalities were counted over 96 hours The results of the
bioassay analysis did not indicate any trends for pH, DO or temperature over the 96 hour period
Temperature measurements generally vaned between 19 9 and 20 7 degrees Celsius (°C), pH
measurements generally vaned between 7 50 and 8 40 and DO measurements generally varied
between 8 40 mg/1 and 9 50 mg/l The laboratory reported that there were two fish mortalities after
96 hours in the above referenced sample, laboratory analysis of a duplicate effluent sample also
reported two fish mortalities after 96 hours The bioassay analysis is summarized in Table 3,
laboratory reports are in Appendix C
