INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 3 At the request of Mr Richard Bokides,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this ti <br />' quarterly report for 6421 Capitol Avenue (the site), Lodi, California The report documents <br /> procedures and results for ground water monitoring and remediation performed at the site between <br /> September and December 2002 (fourth quarter) The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site <br /> } structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> I The enclosed report was prepared as required by California Regional Water Quality Control Board- <br /> Central Valley Region (RWQCB) Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-700, dated 01 March <br /> 2000,and was prepared iri accordance with guidelines established by the RWQCB for investigation <br /> I of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information and' a description of prior <br /> investigations at the site were included in AGE's Final Remediation Plan, dated 31 August 2000 <br /> I; The objectives the of fourth quarter investigations were to characterize,assess and monitor dissolved <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water, to <br /> characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue ground water pump-and-treat <br /> remediation at the site The following is a brief summary of fourth quarter site assessment and <br /> remediation activitiesP erformed at the site <br /> IBetween 05 September and 25 September 2002 - Continued"pump-and-treat"remediation <br /> utilizing on-site extraction wells EW-4,EW-5,EW-8,EW-9 and EW-10,discharged treated <br /> Flag City Chevron ground water into a conveyance ditch located approximately 450 feet <br /> south of the site - <br /> • Between 25 September and 29 October 2002 - Ground water pump-and-treat system <br /> Ioperations were temporanly suspended due to a detection of hexavalent chromium' at the <br /> pump-and-treat effluent at a concentration of 0 30 micrograms per liter(µg/1),a confirmation <br /> sample of the pump-and treat effluent was collected thereafter and was reported by the <br /> laboratory as not detected less than 0 5 micrograms per liter(µg/1) <br /> Y , <br /> On 29 October 2002-Ground water pump-and-treat operations restarted utilizing extraction <br /> wells EW-4, EW-5, EW-8 and EW-10 <br /> • On 13 November 2002 - Completion of repairs to the submersible pump at extraction well ' <br /> EW-9, ground water extraction at well EW-9 was substituted for ground water extraction at <br /> well EW-8 I ' <br /> I , n I <br /> • On 21 November 2002 -AGE performed a monthly monitoring event at the ground water <br /> pump-and-treat remediation system <br /> • On 05 December 2002 '- AGE performed a monthly monitoring event at the ground water <br /> ` I Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
