INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 1 At the request of Mr Richard Bokides,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE)has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for 6421 Capitol Avenue (the site), Lodi, California The report documents <br /> procedures and results for ground water monitoring and remediation performed at the site during <br />' June, July, August and September 2002 (third quarter) The enclosed quarterly report was prepared <br /> as required by California Regional Water Quality Control Board-Central Valley Region(RWQCB) <br /> Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-700,dated 01 March 2000 The site setting is illustrated on <br />' Figure 1 Site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The objectives the of third quarter investigations were to characterize,assess and monitor dissolved <br /> 1 petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water, to <br /> characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue ground water pump-and-treat <br /> remediation at the site This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the <br />' RWQCB for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information and <br /> a description of prior investigations at the site were included in AGE's Final Remediation Plan, <br /> dated 31 August 2000 <br /> The following is a brief summary of third quarter site assessment and remediation activities <br /> performed at the site <br /> 0 13 June through 05 September 2002-Continued"pump-and-treat"remediation utilizing on- <br /> site extraction wells EW-4, EW-5, EW-8, EW-9 and EW-10, discharged approximately <br /> 1,485,238 gallons of extracted and treated water into Coldani Ditch <br /> • 29 July 2002 - Performed a monthly ground water pump-and-treat influent, effluent and <br /> receiving water monitoring event <br /> • 27 August 2002 -Performed a monthly ground water pump-and-treat influent, effluent and <br /> 1receiving water monitoring event <br /> • 04, 05 & 06 September 2002 - Performed the third quarter 2002 ground water monitoring <br /> 1 event <br /> • 25 September 2002-Ground waterpump-and-treat system operations temporarily suspended <br /> due to detection of hexavalent chromium at the pump-and-treat effluent at a concentration <br /> 1 of 0 30 micrograms per liter(µg/1),a confirmation sample of the pump-and treat effluent was <br /> collected on this same day and was reported by the laboratory as not detected less than 0 5 <br /> micrograms per liter(µg/1) <br /> 1 <br /> 1 Advanced GeoE nvi ronmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
