15 July 2002 <br />AGE -NC Project No 96-0232 <br />Page 13 of 21 <br />State Water Resources Control Board's (SWRCB) State Implementation Policy (STP), Flag City <br />Chevron was directed by RWQCB letters, dated 11 September and 05 November 2001 to perform <br />additional NPDES sampling for a variety of potential waste constituents from the pump -arid -treat <br />effluent sampling point <br />The additional effluent ground water samples were logged on a chain -of -custody form, placed in a <br />chilled container and transported to California Department of Health Services (DHS) -certified <br />laboratories for analysis for <br />• Volatile organic compounds by EPA Method 8260, <br />• Senn -volatile organic compounds by EPA Method 8270, <br />• Pesticides and polychlorinated bi-phenols (PCBs) by EPA Method 8080 <br />• Inorganic compounds including Aluminum, Antimony, Arsenic, Asbestos, Banum, Beryllium, <br />Cadmium, total Chromium, Chromium VI, Copper, Cyanide, Fluoride, Iron, Lead, Mercury, <br />Manganese, Nickel, Selenium, Silver, Thalhum, Tributyltin and Zinc by various EPA <br />Methods, <br />• General mineral constituents including Ammonia, Chloride, Hardness, Foaming Agents, Nitrite <br />as Nitrogen, total Phosphorus, Sulfate, Sulfide and Sulfite by various EPA Methods <br />Because of lengthy laboratory turn -around times, AGE will submit the above analytical results and <br />tabulation as an addendum to this quarterly report <br />5.0. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS FROM QUARTERLY ACTIVITIES <br />Previous soil characteristics data obtained by a CPT investigation enabled AGE to define five <br />informal hydrologic units (Final Remediation Plan, dated 31 August 2000) The informal <br />hydrogeologic units were defined as First Zone (5-35 feet bsg), Second Zone (40-60 feet bsg), <br />Rocky's Upper Zone (65-75 feet bsg), Secondary Aquifer Zone (85-105 feet bsg), and Primary <br />Aquifer Zone (130-150 feet bsg) The Rocky's Upper Zone was the shallowest ground water zone <br />screened in the destroyed Rocky's domestic drinking water well <br />The results of pump and treat ground water remediation between 27 March and 13 June 2002 are as <br />follows <br />• Approximately 1,075,700 gallons of MTBE -impacted ground water were extracted from <br />wells EW -4, EW -5, EW -9 and EW -10, which were completed in the First Zone aquifer <br />(Appendix A, Table 8) <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc- <br />
