Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2002 <br />FLAG CITY CHEVRON <br />6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California <br />1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br />At the request of Mr Richard Boludes, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br />quarterly report for 6421 Capitol Avenue (the site), Lodi, California The report documents <br />procedures and results for ground water monitoring and remediation performed at the site during <br />April, May and June 2002 (second quarter), this report also proposes a new, reduced ground water <br />monitoring program that is outlined in section 9 0 (recommendations) The enclosed quarterly report <br />was prepared as required by California Regional Water Quahty Control Board - Central Valley <br />Region (RWQCB) Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-700, dated 01 March 2000 The site <br />setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure <br />2 <br />The objectives the of second quarter investigations were to characterize, assess and monitor <br />dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground <br />water, to characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue ground water pump - <br />and --treat remediation at the site This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines established <br />by the RWQCB for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information <br />and a description of prior investigations at the site were included in AGE's Final Remediation Plan, <br />dated 31 August 2000 <br />The following is a brief summary of second quarter site assessment and remediation activities <br />performed at the site, m addition to the water level measurements conducted during the June <br />quarterly monitoring event, monthly water level measurements were collected in April and May in <br />accordance with a RWQCB letter dated 28 February 2002 <br />• 27 March through 13 June 2002 - Discharged approximately 1,075,700 gallons of extracted <br />and treated water into Coldam Ditch <br />• 01 April through 30 April 2002 - Continued "pump -and -treat" remediation utihzmg on-site <br />extraction wells EW -4, EW -5, EW -9 and EW -10, <br />0 16 April 2002 - Monthly ground water pump -and -treat influent, effluent and receiving water <br />monitoring event <br />• 30 April 2002 - Month of April depth to ground water monitoring well measurements <br />• 01 May through 15 May 2002 - Ground water pump -and -treat system operations temporarily <br />suspended due to maintenance on pump -and -treat system process pump <br />• 16 May through 30 June 2002 - Continued "pump -and -treat" remediation utilizing on-site <br />extraction wells EW -4, EW -5, EW -9 and EW -10 <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br />
