• 30 July 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> Page 15 of 16 <br /> • In accordance with Work Plan Addendum (dated 14 April 2004), dual-completion ground <br /> water monitonng well MW-19 (A and B)was Installed off-site on 14 May 2004,the well is <br /> located approximately 265 feet northeast of well MW-8 on the north side of Banner Avenue <br /> The well was developed on 20 May 2004 and surveyed for elevation and GPS coordinates <br /> on 10 June 2004 A report of findings that details the procdures for the well Installation is <br /> in the process of being prepared, AGE anticipates the report of findings will be completed <br /> by 15 August 2004 <br /> • One additional ground water monitoring well is warranted between Flag City Chevron wells <br /> MW-8 and MW-19, the well should have independent screen intervals through <br /> hydrogeologic units First Water Zone and Second Water Zone AGE has contacted the <br /> adjacent property owner (McDonald's Corporation) to the north at 6440 West Banner <br /> Avenue, and requested permission to install one dual-completed ground water monitoring <br /> well Mr Dave Lamm (Senior Site Acquisition Manager) of McDonald's Corporation <br /> previously stated that installation of one groundwater monitoring well on the property would <br /> be acceptable However,Mr Lamm subsequently contacted AGE by email stating that there <br /> is some concern by McDonald's Corporate attorney(s) are concerned that if contamination <br /> is found on McDonald's property, then McDonald's Corporation may potentially be held <br /> liable for the clean-up This last correspondence was dated 18 June 2004, AGE has not <br /> received further correspondence regarding approval from McDonald's Corporation since 18 <br /> June 2004 <br /> As noted above, a total of 26,200,733 gallons of MTBE-impacted ground water has been treated at <br /> the site since the start-up period in November 2000 (Table 8), during this time, a total of 12 98 <br /> pounds of MTBE was removed from MTBE-impacted ground water AGE has provided the <br /> following summary of annual cost for MTBE removal <br /> • November 2000 and November 2001 (15`year of operation)-a total of 9 15 pounds of MTBE <br /> was removed at an average pump-and-treat (PT) influent concentration of 209 µg/l, based <br /> on approximately$115,000 spent on I'year of PT operation and maintenance,than the cost <br /> rate was roughly $12,500 for every pound of MTBE removed <br /> • December 2001 and November 2002 (2nd year of operation)- a total 137 pounds of MTBE <br /> was removed at an average PT influent concentration of 21 4g/I, based on approximately <br /> $70,000 spent on 2nd year of PT operation and mamtenance, than the cost rate was roughly <br /> $51,000 for every pound of MTBE removed <br /> • December 2002 and November 2003 (3'd year of operation) - a total 1 88 pounds of MTBE <br /> was removed at an average PT influent concentration of 31 4g/1, based on approximately <br /> $52,000 spent on Yd year of PT operation and maintenance, than the cost rate was roughly <br /> $27,500 for every pound of MTBE removed <br /> Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc <br /> r <br />
