Quarterly Report - Fourth Quarter 2003 <br /> FLAG CITY CHEVRON <br /> 6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Richard Bokides,Advanced GeoEnvtronmental, Inc (AGE)has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for 6421 Capitol Avenue (the site), Lodi, California The report documents <br /> procedures and results for ground water monitoring and reinediation performed at the site between <br /> September and December 2003 (fourth quarter) The site setting is illustrated on Figure I Site <br /> structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The enclosed report was prepared as required by California Regional Water Quality Control Board- <br /> Central Valley Region, (RWQCB) Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-700, dated 01 March <br /> 2000,and was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the RWQCB for investigation <br /> of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior <br /> investigations at the site were included in AGE's Final Remediation Plan, dated 31 August 2000 <br /> The objectives the of fourth quarter investigations were to characterize,assess and monitor dissolved <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water, to <br /> characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue ground water pump-and-treat <br /> • remediation at the site The following is a brief summary of fourth quarter site assessment and <br /> remediation activities <br /> O Between 15 September and 27 October, 06 November and 09 December 2003 - Continued <br /> ground water pump-and-treat remediation utilizing on-site extraction wells EW-4, EW-5, <br /> EW-7 and EW-8,discharged a total of approximately 1,109,431 gallons of treated Flag City <br /> Chevron ground water into a conveyance ditch located approximately 450 feet south of the <br /> site <br /> C Between 27 October and 06 November 2003 - Due to a malfunction in the process pump of <br /> the pump-and-treat system, all pump-and-treat operations were temporarily suspended until <br /> the process pump could be repaired The process pump was repaired and reinstalled on 06 <br /> November 2003 and pump-and-treat operations were restarted, influent and effluent grab <br /> water samples was collected from the pump-and-treat system immediately following the <br /> restart <br /> e 06 November, 19 November and 09 December 2003 - Monthly monitoring events at the <br /> ground waterpump-and-treat remediation system,extraction wells EW-4,EW-5,EW-7 and <br /> EW-8 were in operation <br /> e 08, 09 and 10 December 2003 - Quarterly ground water monitoring event (fourth quarter <br /> 2003) at wells MW-1 through MW-18, EW-1 through EW-10, CSA-1 and CSA-2 <br /> i <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc <br />
