9' <br /> Advanced <br /> i GeoEnvironmental, Inc. =0= <br /> 04 March 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> RECEIVED <br /> Mr James Barton <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region MAR 9 Y004 <br /> 11020 Sun Center Drive, #200 ENVIRONMENT HEAI.I'H <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95870-6114 PERMVTISERVICES <br /> Subject: Addition to Work Plan Addendum- October 2003 <br /> FLAG CITY CHEVRON <br /> 6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, CA <br /> Dear Mr Barton <br /> In accordance with our telephone conversation on 11 February 2004,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc (AGE) has prepared this letter addendum to Work Plan Addendum - October 2003, dated 15 <br /> October 2003 for one additional on-site and three additional off-site Geoprobi soil borings The <br /> location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 A plan of the site and the proposed Joil boring locations <br /> are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> In accordance with Work Plan Addendum-October 2003,AGE previously advanced five Geoprobe <br /> soil borings(P-3 9 through P-43)on 20,21 and 22 January 2004, soil samples and grab ground water <br /> samples were collected at selected intervals Based on the analytical results, significant MTBE was <br /> detected in 10 of 12 grab groundwater samples Grab groundwater analytical results are summarized <br /> in Tables 1 <br /> The most intense MTBE-impacted ground water was detected in January 2004 from soil bonngs <br /> P-39 (36 to 41 feet), P-41 (37 to 41 feet) and P-43 (13 to 18 feet) Based on the January 2004 <br /> Geoprobe testing results, additional ground water monitoring wells will be necessary to assess the <br /> extent of the MTBE-impact However, prior to monrtonng well installations, AGE proposes to <br /> advance additional Geoprobe soil borings to further evaluate the distribution of MTBE-impacted <br /> ground water and for placement of future ground water monitoring wells <br /> Therefore, one additional soil boring(P-45) is proposed at the McDonald's restaurant (6440West <br /> Banner Avenue)approximately 110 feet northeast of Flag City Chevron well MW-8,two additional <br /> soil borings (P-46 and P-47) are proposed at the New West Petroleum facility(6437 West Banner <br /> Avenue)approximately 120 feet north-northwest and 140 feet north-northeast of Flag City Chevron <br /> soil boring P-43, and one additional boring near the north-end of the Flag City Chevron UST pit <br /> area Procedures for drilling and sampling were presented in Section 3 0 of the above referenced <br /> 837 Shaw Road,Stockton, Cahfornia 95215 <br /> Telephone(209) 467-1006 FAX(209) 467-1118 <br />
