INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br />' At the request of Mr Richard Bokides,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE)has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for 6421 Capitol Avenue (the site), Lodi, California The report documents <br /> procedures and results for ground water monitoring and reinediation performed at the site between <br /> June and September 2003 (third quarter) The site setting is illustrated on Figure I Site 4tructures <br /> and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> I <br /> The enclosed report was prepared as required by California Regional Water Quality Control Board- <br /> Central Valley Region (RWQCB) Cleanup and Abatement Order Aro 5-00-700, dated 01 March <br /> 2000,and was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the RWQCB for investigation <br /> of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior <br /> investigations at the site were included in AGE's Final Remediation Plan, dated 31 August 2000 <br /> IThe objectives the of third quarter investigations were to characterize, assess and monitor dissolved <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water, to <br /> • characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue ground water pump-and-treat <br /> remediation at the site The following is a brief summary of third quarter site assessment and <br /> remediation activities <br /> e Between 25 June and 15 September 2003 - Continued ground water pump-and-treat <br /> remediation utilizing on-site extraction wells EW-4, EW-5, EW-7 and EW-8, discharged a <br /> total of approximately 835,840 gallons of treated Flag City Chevron ground water into a <br /> conveyance ditch located approximately 450 feet south of the site <br /> C 25 June, 25 July, 29 August and 15 September 2003 - Monthly monitoring events at the <br /> ground water pump-and-treat remediation system, extraction wells EW-4,EW-5,EW-7 and <br /> EW-8 were in operation <br /> I • Between 07 and 25 July 2003 - Due to detection of MTBE at the effluent on 25 June 2003, <br /> ground water pump-and-treat operations were suspended and confirmation grab water <br /> samples were collected at pump-and-treat effluent on 07 July 2003, the subsequent water <br /> analysis did not detect any MTBE <br /> • Between 25 July and 04 August 2003 - Ground water pump-treat operations continued due <br /> to MTBE not being detected from the effluent 07 July 2003 confirmation samples <br /> • Between 04 August and 27 August 2003 - Ground water pump-and-treat operations <br /> suspended and the ground water treatment unit back-flushed on 11 August 2003 due to a <br /> second detection of MTBE at the effluent during the 25 July 2003 monthly monitoring event, <br /> confirmation grab water samples collected at the pump-and-treat effluent on 11 August 2003 <br /> r did not detect any MTBE <br /> 1 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
