l
10-22-2001 04 46PM FRAM RISHWAIN 8 RISHWAIN TO 4671118 P 03
I
Page 2
' Mr Robert E. Marty
RE Rocky's Restaurant
October 22, 2001
' According to Cecil Dillon, he will be unable to obtain firm bids for the construction uatil his
engineering drawings are completed. I am in the process of obtaining further clanficafaon from
I Public Works regarding the construction requirements Apparently,in the event that 14 is
required that the water main be extended across the entire frontage of the property, they cost may
be Higher than we had hoped In the event that a water main can be extended from the existing
' main across the street directly to the parcel, the construction costs will be significantly lower. As
a result, it is impossible at this time to provide even a narrow range of the potential constructions
costs At this time, Cecil Dillon has informed me verbally that the costs can run as lob✓as
' $20,000 00 to as high as$50,000 00 depending upon the clarification that we receive 16m Public
Works
' While I understand that the Tank Fund has pre approved only$40,000 00 for flus work, it is now
clear that the costs of proceeding with an out of agency service are much greater Unfortunately,
at this time there are no funds independent of the Tank Fund to commence with any of the work
required. If we are to complete the hook up prior to the end of the year, the following will need
to occur
1. We need to immediately have Cecil Dillon complete the engineering drawings so
that we can obtain firm construction rids, and
2. Prior to having Cecil Dillon commence with his engineering drawings,we need
pre-approval for the engineering bid as well as pre-approval com itmeht for the
unknown construction work and other expenses set forth above.
The out of agency service appears to be the only feasible alternative to providing a permanent
source of water Unfortunately, this requires significant expenses Therefore, I would appreciate
it if you would immediately commence with the process of obtaining pre-approval for the work
to be performed as set forth above so that we can immediately start with the engineering
drawings Without such a commitment, it would be pointless to start a process without the funds
to see the process to completion
I
I
