13 July 2001
AGE-NC Project No 96-0232
I suspected plumes are co-mingled in the area between Three B's Truck Plaza wells MW-1 through
MW-6 and Flag City Chevron wells MW-7, MW-11, MW-12 and MW-13, AGE has modeled them
as separate plumes (Figures 10 and 11)
Relative to the inferred source area near MW-1,the extent of the Flag City Chevron plume appears
to extend approximately 30 to 40 feet toward the north and approximately 35 feet bsg (Figure 7), to
Ithe west the plume appears to extend approximately 200 to 250 feet and at depths as great as 75 feet
bsg(Figures 7 and 8), to the south the plume appears to extend approximately 40 to 50 feet and at
depths as great as 35 feet bsg (Figure 8), and to the cast the plume appears to extend approximately
90 to 100 feet and at depths as great as 35 feet bsg (Figures 7 and 9)
r6.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
IBased upon data collected from the site, AGE recommends
O Continued quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling of monitoring wells MW-1
through MW-13, municipal water wells CSA-1 and CSA-2 and domestic water wells DW-1
and RDW-1
O Continued coordinated quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling events with Three
B's Truck Plaza
G Continued selective ground water extraction in alternating weekly shifts from extraction
' wells located in the south trench-line (EW-2, EW-4, EW-6 and EW-9) and wells located in
the north trench-line(EW-5, EW-7,EW-8 and EW-10) A heavier emphasis should be given
to ground water extraction from EW-4 and EW-9 due to the higher MTBE concentrations
' reported at these wells
' 7.0. LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skull ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number
of available data points (ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary away from
these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
' recommendations contained in this report
•
1
Advanced GeoEnvpronmentai,Inc.
