• Work Plan Addendum
FLAG CITY CHEVRON
6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California
1.4. INTRODUCTION
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE)has prepared this work plan addendum for installation of
five ground water morutonng/extraction wells and installation of one ozone sparge well at 14659
North Thornton Road, Lodi, California (Rocky's Restaurant) because additional ground water
monitoring wells were required west of Flag City Chevron monitoring well MW-7 to determine the
western extent of methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE)-impacted ground water
AGE is also proposing at this time to advance two Geoprobe soil borings in north-northeast sections
of the Flag City Chevron site and one Geoprobe soil boring in a south section of the McDonalds
Restaurant property located at 6440 West Banner, Lodi, California During the March 2002 ground
water monitoring event, significant concentrations of dissolved MTBE were detected from Second
Zone well MW-SA(screened 40 to 50 feet bsg) and reconfirmed in April 2002, it is not clear at thus
time why substantial MTBE is present in MW-8A after nine consecutive quarters of being non-
detect Therefore, AGE is proposing at this time to advance three soil borings for collection of soil
and ground water samples to further assess the MTBE-impacted ground water detected at MW-8A
Following well installations, AGE will perform feasibility studies at Rocky's Restaurant for ground
water corrective action including performance of a 24-hour Second Zone (40 to 60 feet bsg) aquifer
pumping test, performance of a 24-hour Upper Rocky's Zone (65 to 75 feet bsg) aquifer pumping
test and performance of a 4-week in-situ ozone sparge (IOS) pilot test The Iocation of the site is
illustrated on Figure 1 A plan of the Rocky's Restaurant site is illustrated on Figure 2 A plan of the
Flag City Chevron site is illustrated on Figure 3
The proposed scope of work is in accordance with a directive letter from the California Regional
Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), dated 28 February 2002 As part of the off-site Final
Remediation Plan(FRP) for the Flag City Chevron site, performance of the above referenced pilot
tests are necessary to evaluate potential remediation options for ground water at the site Upon
completion of the feasibility studies and monitoring well installations, a revised Remedial Action
Plan (RAP) will be prepared
This work plan is prepared in accordance with California Regional Water Quality Control Board -
Central Valley Region (RWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks
(UST) sites
2 0. SCOPE OF WORK
Based on soil and ground water data collected during the investigation of petroleum-hydrocarbon
impact at the Flag City Chevron site,AGE has developed a prelunmary subsurface model of the site
Advanced GeoEnvirenmental,Inc
