Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Work Plan Addendum
. FLAG CITY CHEVRON
6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, Califorma
1.0. INTRODUCTION
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this work plan addendum for installation of
two ground water observation wells and performance of a ground water aquifer pump test at 6421
Capitol Avenue (site), Lodi, California It is AGE's plan to install the observation wells in such a
manner that there will be the option of converting the observation wells to ground water extraction
wells at a later date The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated
on Figure 2
On 01 March 2000, the Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region
(RWQCB-CVR) directed by Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-700 that a Final Remediation
Plan (FRP)be submitted to the RWQCB-CVR by 31 July 2000 for the cleanup of impacted soil and
ground water at the site In order to design an appropriate remediation system for the FRP (i e
ground water"pump and treat"), AGE believes an additional aquifer pump test is necessary to better
predict achievable zones of capture (radius of influence) during ground water extraction activities
at the site
This Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Work Plan Addendum is prepared in accordance with
Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region (RWQCB-CVR) guidelines for the
investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites
I
2 0. SCOPE OF WORK
AGE proposes to drill and install one four-inch diameter ground water observation well screened
between 15 feet and 35 feet bsg(shallow well) and one additional four-inch diameter ground water
observation well screened between 40 and 50 feet bsg (deep well) Following installation of the
wells, a 24-hour aquifer pump test will be conducted at the site to better predict a general radius of
influence during ground water extraction activities The shallow well will be utilized as the
extraction point during the 24-hour aquifer pump test, the deep well will be utilized as an
observation point during the 24-hour pump test and to monitor methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE)
concentrations in the deeper zone
AGE proposes to conduct an eight-hour aquifer pump test following the 24-hour pump test to better
predict a general radius of influence in the deeper zone during ground water extraction activities and
to monitor hydraulic communication between the shallow and deep zones The eight-hour pump test
will utilize the deep well as the extraction point and the shallow well as an observation point
Ground water deeper than 60 feet bsg in the area of the proposed wells is not currently impacted by
MTBE
Advanced CcoEnuronmental,Inc
