19 June 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0232 <br /> Page 35 of 35 <br /> monitoring wells could be strategically placed near the Injection well to monitor for contaminants <br /> If Flag City Chevron is denied an RWQCB-CVR discharge permit for an infection well, AGE <br /> recommends off-site treatment of Impacted ground water Ground water will be pumped from <br /> extraction wells to above ground storage tanks and hauled off-site to appropriate waste water <br /> treatment facilities <br /> A minimal treatment period of 24 to 36 months can be expected to reduce concentrations to a level <br /> suitable for closure consideration,experience with pump-and-treat systems show that more time may <br /> be required Ground water remediation alternatives,estimated durations and associated costs for the <br /> site are summarized on Table 11 <br /> AGE believes that RW-1 should be properly abandoned and measures taken to supply and alternative <br /> source ofpotable water It appears that ground water pumping at RW-1 Is drawing the dissolved Flag <br /> City Chevron MTBE plume towards It, AGE suspects the construction design of RW-1 serves as a <br /> vertical conduit to depths in excess of 130 feet bsg <br /> AGE believes that ground water remediation will be necessary in the area of the Rocky's Restaurant <br /> domestic drinking water well(RW-1),however to accurately address the impact,this area should not <br /> be remedlated at this time Additional deeper and horizontal investigation Is warranted on the Three <br /> B's Truck Plaza property and on the Rocky's Restaurant property prior to implementing a proper <br /> remedial alternative <br /> 11.0. LIMITATIONS <br /> Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by <br /> environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon <br /> analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologlc/hydrogeologlc <br /> conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation were made from a limited number of <br /> available data points (I a monitonng wells, soil borings) and subsurface conditions may vary away <br /> from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, Is made as to the professional <br /> recommendations contained in this report <br /> Advanced Geo£mironmental,Inc <br />
