Subject Revision to Work Plan Addendunn dated 08 March 2000
1 FLAG CITY CHEVRON -6421 Capitol Avenue, Lodi, California ,
Dear Mr Hartzell - h
1 Adval7eed GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE)has previously submitted a work plan addendum (dated 08 March
2000) for advancement of five cone penetrometer testing (CPT) soil borings and for installation of five
1 clustered ground water monitoring wells for the site located at 6421 Capitol Avenue Lodi, California The
number of clustered ground water monitoring wells and designated screen interval depths-%N ere to be based
on the CPT findings The location of the site is illustrated on,Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated on
Figure 2
Between 28 March and 04 April 2000, five CPT soil borings P-13, P-14, P-15, P-16 and P-17 ".ere advanced
1 at the site to maximum depths of 130 feet below surface grade CPT lithologic data collected from borings
P-13 P-14, P-I5, P-16 and P-17 were utilized to construct geologic cross sections A-A', B-B' and C-C' (see
j Figures 3 4 and 5) Based on analysis of CPT lithologic data, ground water samples were collected from P-
13, P-1.1, P-15, P-16 and P-17 in areas of lithology changes and intervals of porous and permeable material _
Selected ground water samples were analyzed by KIFF Analytical Laboratory,'a State of California
Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for
1 • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d)by EPA Method 801 5-M,
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g), volatile aromatic compounds
1 (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes BTEX),methyl-tertiary butyl ether(MTBE),ethylene
dibromide(1,2-dibromoethane), 1,2-dichloroethane (I 2-DCA),tertiary butanol (TBA) di-isopropyl
ether (DIPE), ethyl tert butyl ether (ETBE), tert amyl methyl ether (TAME) and MTBE by EPA
1 Method 8260B
Analytical results of the grab ground water }samples collected from P-13, P-1.1, P-15, P-16 and P-17 are
summarized in Table 1 Laboratory analysis'of nineteen ground water samples detected MTBE,TBA,ethanol
or methanol compounds in ten ground water samples, the laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
did not detect TPH-g,TPH-d, BTEX,DIPS, ETBE ETBE,TAME, 1,2-DCA or EDB The laboratory reports
(KIFF Analytical Report Nos 16399, 16400 and 16411 through 3I879) and chain-of-custody forms are
• presented in Appendix A Procedures and findings derived from the CPT investigation will be presented in
greater detail iii April, May and June's Quarterly Report
