shows MLTR Tire out of Stockton.
MLTR Co: 1053 Boardwalk Dr Stockton CA 95206 (209) 982-9408 TPID
1299895-01
Lakin Tire West: 15305 Spring Ave Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670 (562) 802-2852 TPID 1000659-
01
I called Lakin Tire West at 562. 802-5752, and spoke to Debbie Vincent to find out if MLTR is a
subcontractor, or affiliated company—why MLTR is using your hauler TPID and not theirs etc... , and
if they are reporting all the CTL's or if MLTR reports for their pickups.
Condensing our conversation a bit- Ms Vincent told me that MLTR is a common carrier for them, and
she said she had talked to you in the past about this while setting it up. She looked through the records
and said they weren't being sent in for some reason for that facility, and is submitting all of them for the
last year as a batch in the near future.
I'm just hoping to confirm with you if this is the correct way they are to be doing things with common
carriers and use of TPID's—it seems to me that since the truck MLTR is using to haul has a decal and
they are registered that they should be using their own paperwork and TPID. I've talked to Jenni Ruiz
of San Joaquin County (and included her in this email) about this issue, and she is planning to visit
MLTR Tire in the near future, and would like to address any issues with the hauling if needed.
(As for the Big O Tires—I put them in compliance as they were doing everything correct, and it was the
haulers who dropped the ball on the manifest reporting...)
Thanks for any clarification you can give us.
Take Care,
Mike Simpson
Environmental Compliance Technician
Sacramento County Environmental Management Dept
8475 Jackson Rd, Ste 230 Sacramento, CA 95826
10/10/2007
