p' a <br /> September 2007 • • padre <br /> ssoelates, inc. <br /> Project No. 0701-2621 EEH9.DEM Lta15i9. <br /> t 0 ENVIHONMEHLPL SCIENLISL. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> Location: Cardinal Avenue Railroad Crossing (approx. 300 feet north of intersection <br /> of Cardinal Avenue and Weber Avenue), Stockton, California <br /> ' Hazards: Soil containing petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, creosols, and metals. <br /> Area Affected: Soil at the Project Site. <br /> ' Surrounding Land Use: Commercial/Residential <br /> Topography: Level railroad with slopes on both sides <br /> Weather Conditions: Warm with moderate late morning and afternoon winds. <br /> PROJECT OBJECTIVE <br /> ' The objectives of the environmental assessment program are to: <br /> ' 1. Preparation of a Technical Work Plan (TWP)/site-specific Health and Safety Plan <br /> (HSP) prior to implementation of the soil assessment program; <br /> ' 2. Completion of a pre-assessment site visit to position and demarcate the <br /> proposed drill hole locations prior to notifying Underground Service Alert (USA) <br /> for clearance of potential underground utilities; <br /> ' 3. Advance five drill holes to depths of approximately 10 feet, or the depth at which <br /> practical refusal is encountered, whichever occurs first, to facilitate the collection <br /> of soil samples for chemical analyses; <br /> 4. Chemical analyses of one soil sample (surface) per drill hole (5 soil samples) for <br /> ' the presence of TPH using U.S. EPA method 8015 modified (with carbon chain <br /> breakdown), organochlorine pesticides using U.S. EPA method 8081A, creosols <br /> using U.S. EPA method 8270C, and CAM 17 metals using U.S. EPA method <br /> 6000/7000 series. <br /> 5. Preparation of an assessment report detailing the field methodologies utilized, <br /> ' summarizing the chemical analytical results, and presenting Padre's conclusions <br /> and/or recommendations for the Site. <br /> SITE SETUP <br /> A safe perimeter will be established at the work Project Site. The work area will be <br /> ' restricted to required personnel only. No unauthorized personnel will be allowed within the <br /> established safe perimeter, or will be allowed to enter the Project Site. Control boundaries will <br /> be marked with caution tape if necessary to maintain the established safe perimeter.
