INTRODUCTION=
At your request,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)has prepared this Baseline Soil Sample
Analysis report for 520 Carolyn Weston Boulevard, Stockton, California. The scope of work
included the advancement of two soil borings, collection of soil samples and one water sample for
laboratory analysis. One boring was located within the future underground storage tank (UST)
excavation and included the collection of one grab water sample; a second boring was located near
the future canopy footings area. Each boring was advanced to aldepth of 20 feet below surface grade
(bsg). The location of the site and its surroundings is illustrated on Figure 1. Major features on the
site and soil boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2.
A i
h
2.0 SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT
On 03 October 2001, two soil borings(SB-1. and SB-2) were advanced at the site using a truck-
mounted,CME-75 drill rig equipped with continuous flight 8.215-inch hollow stem augers,The drill
rig and two-man crew were provided by West Hazmat DrillingCorporation of Sacramento,
California.Borings SB-1 and SB-2 were advanced to 20 feet bslg. Soil boring SB-1 was advanced in
the center portion of the site in the proposed canopy footing location.Soil boring SB-2 was advanced
in the southern portion of the site in the proposed UST excavation site.
'I
2.1. SOIL SAMPLING
Soil samples were collected from the borings at 5-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg to the total
depth of the borings using a California split-spoon sampler loaded with three clean 2-inch by 6-inch
brass sleeves. A 140-pound hammer was utilized to advance the sampler over an 18-inch interval
ahead of the augers; the number of blows required to advance the sampler over each 6-inch !
increment was recorded on the boring logs. All sampling equipment was washed in an,Alconox
837 Shaw Road,Stockton,California 9,5215
Telephone(209)467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118 1
