Center St.
Stockton, Ca 95201
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has received and
reviewed correspondence dated August 28, 1992 as submitted by Engineering-Science, Inc. and has the
following comments:
Prior to acceptance or denial of the revised analytical data, PHS/EHD will require the chromatographs of
the original BTEX analysis and of the recently submitted revised BTEX analysis.
Greyhound's proposal to continue groundwater monitoring and quarterly sampling for one year is
acceptable at this time. The starting point for the year's period will commence with the first quarterly
report accepted by PHS/EHD.
Proposals for site closure will be entertained only after both soil and groundwater issues have been
satisfactorily addressed.
Contaminated soil proposed to be left in place shall meet LUFT criteria for allowable levels detailed in
the "Leaching Potential Analysis", Table 2-1.
Until evidence is submitted and approved that alters PHS/EHD's previous decision, groundwater analysis
for June 1992 sampling event will remain "unacceptable".
Please direct your inquires to Michael Infurna, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-3454.
Jogi Khanna, M. , M.P.H.
Health Offic
e
otulla, RENS, Program Manager
ntal Health Division
LAC/MI:Ib
c: CVRWQCB, Elizabeth Thayer
c: SWRCB, Susan Phillips/Erin Velasques
c: Engineering Science, Inc., David L.
