Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
REQUEST FOR DELAY, NOTICE OF NO FURTHER ACTION DETERMINATION,
GREYHOUND TERM_I_NAL,--1-21 SOUTH CENTER STREET, STOCKTON, SAN JOA QUIN
COUNTY
We received your notice, dated 15 January 1997, in which your agency has determined that no further
action is necessary at this site. Unfortunately, our file for this site is incomplete and we have been unable
to make a thorough review of the case. The following reports are missing from our file:
1. December 1996 Quarterly Status Report
2. Request for Closure Report
From the information we do have, it appears that the groundwater level has increased above previous
levels and may now be in contact with contaminated soils, resulting in increasing concentrations of diesel
contamination in groundwater. Representatives of Greyhound have agreed to send us copies of the
missing reports and are planning another round of sampling.
On 13 February 1997, Elizabeth Thayer, Regional Board staff, discussed this site with Margaret Lagorio,
of your staff, and agreed that a two week delay was appropriate. Therefore, we request a two week
extension of our 30 day review period, from 14 February to 28 February 1997, in order to review and
comment on the reports.
Please contact James Brathovde (916) 255-3137 or Gordon Boggs (916) 255-9139 with questions
regarding this site.
J S BEiNETT
I erim Executive Officer -
cc: L.
