greyhound Lines, Inc. # ;
P.O.Box 660362
Dallas,Texas 75266-0362 in
November 10, 1995 ov P11 12: OS
Mr. Michael J. Infura
San Joaquin County
Department of Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P. O. Box 388
445 N. San Joaquin Street
Stockton, California 95201-0388
Re: Greyhound Terminal
Location: 8969
Stockton, California
Deat Mr. Infurna:
Greyhound has received PHS-EHD's letter dated October 11, 1995 regarding the Off-
Site Assessment and Flexibility Study Work Plan submitted in September 1995. Although
Greyhound is anxious to implement an approriate soil remediation technology at this
location, Greyhound does not intend to•implement any additional site investigation or
remediation activities until PHS-EHD approves the work plan as submitted. Contrary to
PHS-EHD's viewpoint, Greyhound has defined the vertical and horizontal extent of
contamination on the Greyhound property, at great expense, as previously directed by PHS-
EHD during three seperate drilling investigations. Greyhound respectfully refers PHS-EHD
to the Supplemental Site Assessment Report dated November 1994, specifically Figures 3
through 5 which indicate that the extent of contamination on-site has been sufficiently
defined to evaluate and select an appropriate remediation strategy.
It is unfortunate that soil remediation at this location is being delayed to PHS-
EHD's persistent request for continual unnecessary site investigation. Please carefully
review and reevaluate the data presented in the November 1994 report. If you cannot arrive
at the conclusions and recommendations that Greyhound has made in a sincere attempt to
remediate this site, Greyhound will request an independent file review by the Regional
Water Quality Control Board.
Sincerely,
GREYHOUND LINES, INC.
Rita Felton
Environmental Department ,
