n+ r,
DECEMBER 1996
QUARTERLY STATUS REPORT (CONTINUED)
In August 1994, Greyhound returned to a quarterly sampling program in response to a
request from PHS-EHD (letter dated August 12, 1994) The PHS-EHD was concerned
about rising water levels beneath the site and the detection of TPH-D to one of the
groundwater samples collected in June 1994
The second Supplemental Site Assessment Report was submitted by Greyhound to PHS-
EHD in November 1994 Greyhound received comments to the Supplemental Site
Assessment Report in a letter dated February 3, 1995 In response, one additional
groundwater monitoring well was proposed to define the western limns of the soil and
groundwater contwmnation After PHS-EHD approval, the proposed groundwater
monitoring well (MW-4) was installed on August 26, 1996 under the supervision of Mr
Michael Infurna (PHS-EHD) Ten subsurface soil samples were collected from the boring
advanced to install the well The groundwater and soil sample results were submitted to
PHS-EHD in a Request for Closure Report, dated November 1996 PHS-EHD is
currently reviewing the report
• Water Level measurements from most recent sampling event
Table 1 provides water level measurements and other physical data obtained during the
December 11, 1996 site visit Free-product and hydrocarbon sheens were not observed in
any of monitoring wells
Figure 2 is a site plan that includes water level elevations based on the December 11, 1996
water level measurements The water elevations indicate that groundwater was flowing
south under an estimated gradient of 0 001 feet per foot The groundwater elevations
were not contoured because the elevations measured in the four wells differ by fess than
0 15 feet
• Water Level measurements from previous monitoring events
Table 1 presents the water level measurements and other physical data obtained during
previous monitoring events Free-product and hydrocarbon sheens were not observed in
any of the monitoring wells during these events
• Analytical results from most recent sampling event
Table 2 summarizes the analytical results from the December 1996 quarterly sampling
event BTEX was not detected in the samples TPH-D was detected in MW-2 at a
concentration of 3,700 µg/L and in MW-3 at a concentration of 9,300 gg/L The
laboratory report and chain-of-custody record are provided in Appendix A
• Analytical results from previous sampling events
Table 3 presents a summary of the analytical results from all previous groundwater
sampling events
pARESsyRo11VOL1 WP1728878108969108969L03WW6
