rn <br /> JUNE 1996 <br /> QUARTERLY STATUS REPORT <br /> GREYHOUND TERMINAL <br /> n <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA AUG 2 6 1996 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> • Site Background PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> One 12,000-gallon diesel UST and associated piping were removed from the site on May <br /> 13, 1991 (Appendix B, June 1992 Quarterly Status Report) No USTs or fuel lines <br /> remain on-site <br /> A preliminary site investigation was completed in October 1991 The investigation <br /> included installation of three monitoring wells (Figure 1) The preliminary site <br /> investigation report was submitted to the Environmental Health Division of the San <br /> Joaquin County Department of Public Health Services (PHS-EHD) and Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (RWQCB) on November 27, 1991 (Appendix C, Quarterly Status <br /> Report, June 1992) <br /> A groundwater monitoring program including monthly water level measurements and <br /> quarterly groundwater sampling and reporting, was established by Greyhound Lines, Inc <br /> (Greyhound) in June 1992 in order to obtain data to assess whether or not groundwater <br /> beneath the site has been affected The program was approved by PHS-EHD in a letter <br /> dated September 29, 1992, and, modified as noted below, is still in progress <br /> A supplemental site assessment was completed in April 1993 Soil samples were obtained <br /> from six soil borings that were advanced on the site during the week of January 18, 1993 <br /> The borings were installed in accordance with a work plan, dated October 28, 1992, that <br /> was approved in a telephone discussion between Mr Michael Infurna of PHS-EHD and <br /> David Nickerson of ES on December 8, 1992 Results of the supplemental soil boring <br /> program were submitted to PHS-EHD and RWQCB in a supplemental site assessment <br /> report on April 1, 1993 <br /> On July 22, I993, PHS-EHD approved the replacement of the quarterly sampling/monthly <br /> monitoring program with a biannual monitoring and groundwater sampling program <br /> In August 1994, a second supplemental site assessment was initiated in response to a <br /> letter, dated January 26, 1994, from PHS-EHD indicating that the full extent of soil <br /> contamination had not yet been defined The work plan for the second supplemental site <br /> assessment was submitted to PHS-EHD in June 1994, and approved by a faxed <br /> transmission to ES on June 28, 1994 Eight soil borings were advanced on-site to depths <br /> ranging between 45 and 51 5 feet A total of 71 soil samples were collected from the <br /> borings at 5-feet intervals, and analyzed for BTEX and TPH-D The maximum total <br /> BTEX concentration reported in the samples was 3,910 Mg/kg The maximum TPH-D <br /> concentration was 16,000 mg/kg The second supplemental site assessment report was <br /> submitted to PHS-EHD in November 1994 <br /> 1 <br /> PARESSYR011VOLI Wn728878108969108969LOI WW6 <br /> I <br />
