(Appendix B, June 1992 Quarterly Status Report) No USTs or fuel lines remain on-site A preliminary site investigation was completed in October 1991. The investigation included installation of three monitoring wells (Figure 1). The preliminary site investigation report was submitted to the Environmental Health Division of the San Joaquin County Department of Public Health Services (PHS-EHD) and Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) on November 27, 1991 (Appendix C, Quarterly Status Report, June 1992) A groundwater monitoring program including monthly water level measurements and quarterly groundwater sampling and reporting, was established by Greyhound Lines, Inc. (Greyhound) in June 1992 in order to obtain data to assess whether or not groundwater beneath the site has been affected The program was approved by PHS- EHD in a letter dated September 29, 1992, and, modified as noted below, is still in progress A supplemental site assessment was completed in April 1993. Soil samples were obtained from six soil borings that were advanced on the site during the week of January 18, 1993 The borings were installed in accordance with a work plan, dated October 28, 1992, that was approved in a telephone discussion between Mr Michael Infurna of PHS-EHD and David Nickerson of ES on December 8, 1992. Results of the supplemental soil boring program were submitted to PHS-EHD and RWQCB in a supplemental site assessment report on April 1, 1993 On July 22, 1993, PHS-EHD approved the replacement of the quarterly sampling/monthly monitoring program with a biannual monitoring and groundwater sampling program In August 1994, a second supplemental site assessment was initiated in response to a letter, dated January 26, 1994, from PHS-EHD indicating that the full extent of soil contamination had not yet been defined The work plan for the second supplemental site assessment was submitted to PHS-EHD in June 1994, and approved by a faxed transmission to ES on June 28, 1994. Eight soil borings were advanced on-site to depths ranging between 45 and 51.5 feet. A total of 71 soil samples were collected . from the borings at 5-feet intervals, and analyzed for BTEX and TPH-D.
