June 24, 1994 mECEIVED
Mr Martin Miller J U L 11 1994
ENGINEERING SCIENCE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
290 Elwood Davis Road PERMIT/SERVICES
Liverpool, NY 13088
Dear Mr Miller
Enclosed please find the corrected analytical report for three liquid samples for BTEX
and TPH-Diesel.
These samples were analyzed by EPA methods, using detections limits which were
derived from instrumentation studies and method requirements. The original detection limits
reported for BTEX and TPH-Diesel for this particular set of samples were based on the standard
detection hmits for SPL. However, at the clients request, the data was re-evaluated and a lower
detection limit was reported.
Under the direction of Ide Williams, Houston Environmental's QA/QC Officer, method
detection limit studies were conducted by the GC Supervisor, at the request of Engineering
Science, specifically for the analysis of TPH-Diesel and TPH-Gasohne Through these studies,
it was determined that MDLs (method detection limits) of 0.03 mg/L for TPH-Diesel and 0.08
ug/1 for TPH-Gasoline were attainable. As a result of this study, SPL is able to report the limits
which are required for the State of California
If I can be of further assistance or answer any questions, please do not hesitate to contact
meat (713) 660-0901 ext 114
Karen Satterfield
Project Manageme t Supervisor
