The operating procedures of the wood treating facility resulted in releases, that over the years contaminated <br /> the ground water. Initially, these procedures were changed to eliminate the releases and In January of 1991 all wood treating at the facility <br /> was stopped. <br /> Since the discovery of the problem, Marley has been working <br /> closely with the California Department of Health Services, San <br /> Joaquin County Department of Health and California Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board to clean up the affected colla and <br /> ..star as axpad L•Icu31y as possible. <br /> O` <br /> Part of the clean up process will Involve the collection of ground <br /> water from several points south of the Sinclair facility,transport <br /> of the water through a pipeline back to the plant,and treatment <br /> of the water by a water treatment facility located at the plant. <br /> Construction of the treatment plant on the Sinclair property is O <br /> almost complete. Crutchfield Construction will construct the <br /> pipeline this summer. <br /> The areas most affected by the pipeline installation activities will "m1O•'Oe1i1`"O a""•* •"�°� <br /> be East Main Street from Dawes Avenue to Sinclair Avenue, <br /> Sinclair Avenue from East Main Street to the plant, and Carroll STOCKTON <br /> Avenue from Washington Street to the plant.
