PHS/EHD has prepared the following comments for your consideration.
The report included the analytical results of soil samples collected between May 12 and
May 13, 1994 from soil borings S131 - SB5. Soil contamination was evidenced in SB1 and
SB3 from 40 - 43 feet below ground surface (bgs) at the capillary fringe and in SB4 from
15 - 43 feet bgs.
You indicated that a work plan to continue the soil and groundwater investigation
necessary to define the extent of contamination would be submitted by October 15, 1994.
PHS/EHD concurs that additional investigation is necessary; however, once the extent of
contamination has been determine a corrective action plan as required by the California
Code of Regulations Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16, Article 11, shall be submitted.
Please be informed that at minimum a 48 hour advance notice of field activities is
required and shall be provided.
