The documents do provide sufficient information for development of a draft Remedial Action Plan (RAP) . There are however issues which need to be addressed. These are discussed in Attachment A and should be incorporated in the Final RI/FS report due March 1, 1989 . As discussed during our December 6, 1989 meeting, a critical time frame exists for development and finalization of a RAP. The Department did agree to extend the January 1, 1990 deadline (for submittal of draft RAP) to February 1, 1990. Please note that this extension applies to the submittal of the draft RAP only. Deadlines remaining in Exhibit F of the March 1, 1989 RAO are unchanged. In the development of the draft RAP, the Department stresses that the document should be kept simple and to the point. Discussions of all alternatives should be included. The document should also explain that the Lead Agency (the Department) will select the remedy based on the review of remedial options presented in the draft RAP and comments received during the public comment period. Additionally, the Department requests that a computer disk containing all written text of the draft RAP be included with the submittal. This will enable the Department to more efficiently finalize the draft submittal and release the document for public review.
