• a
`moi
Former Chevron Service Station 9-0557 Page 2 of 2
139 South Center Street April 30, 2013
Stockton, California
At the request of Chevron and HFA, the EHD has reviewed this site for low-threat closure by
completing a LTCP checklist, although only the California State Water Resources Control Board
personnel can complete the form on GeoTracker. The only difference between the checklist
presented in the report by HFA and the checklist completed by the EHD is in section 3.0 —
"Direct Contact and Outdoor Air Exposure". The EHD responded 'Yes"to the question:
a. Are maximum concentrations of petroleum constituents in soil less than or equal to
those listed in Table 1 for the specified depth below ground surface (bgs)?
The EHD has reviewed historical soil concentrations of benzene and ethylbenzene at depths
between the ground surface and ten feet bsg and has compared the data to
commercial/industrial concentrations listed in Table 1 of the LTCP checklist. The EHD could
find no soil concentrations for benzene and ethylbenzene that exceeded the concentrations
listed in Table 1. The EHD would also respond with an 'NA'to the question:
c. As a result of controlling exposure through the use of mitigation measures or through
the use of institutional or engineering controls, has the regulatory agency determined
that the concentrations of petroleum constituents in soil will have no significant risk of
adversely affecting human health?
Please address the bulleted items presented above. Submit your response to the EHD within
30 days of the date of this letter. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this letter,
please contact Vicki McCartney at (209)468-9852, or by email at vmccartney@sjcehd.com.
Sincerely,
Victoria L.
