The report describes the eleven-year—investigative history at the site located at
139 South Center Street in Stockton, Califorma-(site). The report explains in detail the most
recent investigation at the site, including.,the advancement of four direct push borings by cone
penetrometer testing(CPT) and fourladditional borings immediately adjacent to the CPT borings
for the purpose of collecting discrete groundwater samples. The groundwater samples were taken
to further evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbons, including methyl tertiary butyl
ether(MtBE) in groundwater.
The report concludes with the statement that, "data collected in this investigation suggests [sic]-
that the contaminant plume has been defined to low to non-detect levels." Although the extent of
contamination has not been completely defined at the site,PHS/EHD concurs that after eleven
years, sufficient data have been collected to proceed to the next step. Therefore,PHS/EHD
directs you to prepare a corrective action plan and submit it to PHS/EHD by June 4, 2001,which
is approximately 60 calendar days from the date of this notice.
The previous caseworker for this site, Ron Rowe, is no longer with San Joaquin County. This site
will be assigned to a new caseworker in the near future.
