Our records indicate on 3/21/13 we sent an email to the consultant for a site closure report.We did not have any communication that your agency took the site and issued a Final Closure Order on 3/11/13. Since we were not aware of the Order, we continued forward with closing the site. In April we received the Low- Threat Closure Report from the consultant and met.with Regional Board to discuss its closure. On 4/16/13 my caseworker received a call from CUF asking if we were closing the site and they discussed the issues concerning the hold up of closing the site at that time. Still no mention of the Order you state was issued on 3/11/13. We issued a directive letter on 4/30/13 to the consultant and uploaded it to GT, stating the site meets general and specific criteria of the LTCP,but directed them to provide additional information to address our concerns contained in the letter. After our concerns were addressed, we sent the 30-day NFA notification letter to Regional Water Quality Control Board on 7/17/13 and received a concurrence letter from RWQCB on 8/6/13. We were in the process of working with the consultant on the Public Notification letter, when we received the November 8 2013, Notice of Public Review Comment from SWQCB. That was the first indication we had that SWQCB took the site from us. This site was not on the list SWQCB sent to me on May 14, 2013. We stopped work on closing the site at that time. We were only waiting for destruction permits to be submitted for us to oversee their destructions. To update you-A directive letter dated June 30, 2014 was sent to the Chevron Environmental Management Company and uploaded to GT that directed the destruction of wells within ninety days of date of the letter.We expect the wells to be destroyed by the end of September, 2014.
