WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS 7 <br /> MARLEY COOLING TOWER COMPANY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> provisions contained in Division 7 of the California Water Code and regulations <br /> adopted thereunder, and the provisions of the Clean Water Act and regulations and <br /> guidelines adopted thereunder, shall comply with the following: <br /> A. Discharge Prohibitions: <br /> 1. Discharge of treated wastewater at a location or in a manner different <br /> from that described in Finding No. 2 is prohibited. <br /> 2. The by-pass or overflow of wastes to surface waters is prohibited, <br /> except as allowed by Standard Provision A. 13. <br /> 3. Storm water discharges shall not cause or threaten to cause pollution, <br /> contamination, or nuisance. <br /> 4. Storm water discharges regulated by this Permit shall not contain a <br /> hazardous substance equal to or in excess of a reportable quantity <br /> listed in 40 CFR Part 117 and/or 40 CFR Part 302. <br /> B. Effluent Limitations: (Discharge 001, to the Stockton Diverting Canal) <br /> 1. Discharge of an effluent in excess of the following limits is <br /> prohibited: <br /> Monthly 4 Day Daily <br /> Constituents Units Average Average Maximum <br /> Copper ug/l 6.5 <br /> Total Chromium ug/l 50 50 <br /> Hexavalent Chromium ug/l 11 <br /> Arsenic ug/l 5 <br /> Total Dissolved mg/l 500 640 <br /> Solids <br /> 2. The Discharger shall conduct quarterly toxicity testing of the combined <br /> effluent from the andco and ion exchange treatment systems per <br /> EPA/600/4-89/001 Short Term Methods for Estimating the Chronic Toxicity <br /> of Effluent and Receiving Waters to Freshwater Organisms (Second <br /> Edition). Sampling frequency should be representative of each mode of <br /> operation. Laboratory control samples and/or upstream control samples <br /> may be used for comparison of survival rates. The revised Toxicity <br /> Monitoring Plan is to be submitted by 1 July 1992. <br /> If the discharge produces in-stream toxicity, the Discharger shall <br /> conduct an investigation and develop a corrective action plan. <br />
