PRECIOSION <br /> • <br /> 2.0 Interpretation <br /> CPT measurements during cone penetration include cone bearing <br /> (q j, sleeve friction (Q, and dynamic pore water pressure (u). <br /> Because these measurements relate to specific soil properties they <br /> can be used to identify soil types. <br /> Soil type interpretation of the collected parameters is represented <br /> in the color tabulation in the following appendix. This <br /> interpretation is based on correlations developed by Robertson et <br /> al, 1989. In this interpretation, friction ratio (Rf) (sleeve friction <br /> divided by cone bearing) and cone bearing are used in the attached <br /> chart to identify soil types. <br /> A general observation of the measured parameters can also be used <br /> to identify soil types.
