Products Company <br /> 2410 Camino Ramon <br /> San Ramon, CA 94583-0804 <br /> RE: WORK PLAN FOR SOIL AND GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT <br /> CHEVRON SERVICE STATION #9-0557 <br /> 139 SOUTH CENTER <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> Dear Mr. Hunter: <br /> In response to your request, Groundwater Technology, Inc. has prepared this additional soil and <br /> groundwater assessment work plan for the above-referenced site to fulfill the requirements of the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS). The scope of work consists of drilling one soil <br /> boring, installation of a groundwater monitoring well, soil and groundwater sampling, laboratory <br /> analyses, and report preparation. <br /> TASK 7: SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN / BACKGROUND REVIEW / PERMITTING <br /> A Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan will be prepared by Groundwater Technology as required by the <br /> Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and <br /> Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120). The Site-Specific Health and Safety Pian will be <br /> prepared by Groundwater Technology personnel, following a complete review of site conditions and any <br /> existing Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans for the site with the project manager. The document will <br /> be reviewed and signed by all Groundwater Technology personnel and subcontractors performing work <br /> at the site. <br /> Groundwater Technology will conduct a technical review of all pertinent information associated with the <br /> site. All applicable local and State permits pertaining to the proposed work will be obtained. <br /> TASK 2: SOIL BORING / SAMPLING AND ANALYSES / MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> Groundwater Technology will drill one (1) soil boring using a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8- <br /> inch-diameter hollow-stem augers (Figures 1 and 2). The boring will be drilled to a depth of - <br /> approximately 60 feet below grade to accommodate monitoring well installation. The water table is <br /> expected to be encountered at a depth of approximately 45 feet. The hollow-stem augers will be steam <br /> cleaned before drilling the boring, and all sampling equipment will be properly cleaned before and <br /> r between sample intervals. The drilling will be conducted over a one day period. Soil samples will be <br /> collected at five-foot depth intervals and at notable lithologic changes, utilizing an 18-inch California split- <br /> Offices throughout the U.S..Canada and Overseas <br />
