removed from its liner to be used as an aide to the on-site professional in
' logging the material at that depth.
Soil samples collected for analysis were analyzed using EPA Method 5030/LUFT
' for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline, EPA Method 3550/LUFT for
kerosene, diesel, and motor oil, EPA Method 8260B for benzene, toluene, ethyl-
benzene, total zylenes (BTEX), oxygenates, ethylene dibromide, and 1,2-
dichloroethane, EPA Method 6010B for priority pollutant heavy metals, EPA
Method 8010 for purgeable halocarbons, and EPA Method 8021B for aromatic
' halocarbons. Analyses were conducted by GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc., a
State-certified laboratory in Modesto, California.
3.3 Groundwater Sampling
' All sampling equipment was cleaned prior to commencement of sampling. A
travel blank provided by the laboratory accompanied the sample vials from the
time they were picked up from the lab to the time they were delivered to the
' lab.
Care was taken to ensure that no air space existed in the vials by inverting each
vial to check for bubbles, if bubbles were present, the groundwater was re-
sampled. The samples were analyzed within 14 days according to their EPA
' methods. The water sample collected for analysis was analyzed using EPA
Method 5030/LUFT for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline, EPA
Method 3510/LUFT for kerosene, diesel, and motor oil, EPA Method 8260B
' for benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene, total zylenes (BTEX), oxygenates, ethylene
dibromide, and 1,2-dichloroethane, EPA Method 6010B for priority pollutant
heavy metals, EPA Method 8010B for purgeable halocarbons, and EPA Method
8020 for aromatic halocarbons. Analyses were conducted by the State-certified
laboratory GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc., in Modesto, California.
' 4.0 Analytical Results
' 4.1 Soil Analytical Results
' The soil sample analysis of Boring B-1 indicated that the out of the analytes tested,
only the heavy metal were present at or above the laboratory reporting limits. All
• other analytes were ND, none detected. The only soil sample that was analyzed
' for metals was sample B-1 at 10.0'. The only metals present in that soil sample
were arsenic, barium, chromium, cobalt, copper, lead, nickel, vanadium, and zinc.
