The Source Area 1 and 2 soil borings will be sampled every
5 feet with a modified California split-spoon sampling device. In addition, the drill cuttings
will also be sampled. Bulk drill cuttings samples from selected intervals will be placed in 5
gallon plastic buckets that will be subsequently sealed with a tight fitting lid. The remaining
cuttings will be placed in 55 gallon drums. The Source Area 3 boring will be drilled and
continuously sampled from surface to 5 or 10 feet bgs using a modified California split spoon
sampling device. The California-modified split-spoon sampling device will be lined with
brass sampling tubes.
Upon completion the borings will grouted with Portland neat cement. The cement will be
tremied to the base of the hole to ensure a quality sanitary seal. All drilling equipment will
be properly steam-cleaned and decontaminated between borings to avoid potential cross
contamination. The subcontractor will provide the necessary equipment to contain all water
and soil generated during the decontamination process.
clmywmNexcCRpgeetlm\p hsseI W wriug96.doc
zoo In 'I1IH NOD 2099 999 OTS TM LC:OT (1HA 90/8Z/T0
a# !N011VUOIdX3 wH1O3ds — 9OZ8 ESB OL9 `VC:6 !96-oz-L :09AI3O3
