However, we can really get caught up in the whole thing and forget that we do have an enforcement policy. I know I have. NOV; NOV extension only if significant progress has been made, next step a cease and desist/CAO. Laura I agree we need to proceed with a CAO. If he gets them cleaned up under 1500 we need to watch him closely for at least six months. Also I would like to encourage him to get a permit if he has all the stuff done ...there is no cost and he can operate and stay in compliance and we don't have to watch him like a hawk. We have to consider that if these places burn and we have been following our policy we will take some heat. On the fire in Rio Vista, Jim's and Wendy's first question was "did we know about the pile and where we following policy.... " Jenni thanks for all your work and coordination on this site. Wants Shamrock to take some of the heat for his own situation. He didn't ask for grace, just rolled over and played dead like he was wounded, so to speak. You have my support whichever way you decide to go with this. Guess what? Brannon has another yard on Charter way. It is at 2101 E Charter, the lot is split into three yards: Advanced Trailer, United Rentals, and this trailer yard I'm referring to. Employees in the yard had Advanced Trailer vehicles. Technically, the TPID# belongs to Advanced Trailer. We inspected them in January 2006, but not this yard as part of the inspection. Robert spotted some gang graffiti on one of the many trailers parked there that resembled the graffiti on our latest dumped trailer, so he stopped and looked around from the street. It was full of tires. (imagine that!) I went out to snap photos, and counted seven trailers and a 40 yard bin full of tires. I didn't enter the property, just gathered info from outside the fence. This just might be the source of our dumped trailers. CHP and I are in contact regarding the last one, and I'm ready to get DOT numbers from tires inside the trailer as 1/3/2007
