DEFINITION OF TERMS <br />BxS - Bell (female) x spigot (male) joint. <br />Bond Line - Area where two surfaoes are bonded <br />together. <br />Closed Seoondary Containment Piping System - A <br />seoondary piping system with ends normally olosed <br />at the tank and sump with a minimum rated pressure <br />of 50 psig (350 kPa). <br />Cooked Joint - Appearanoe of BxS joint that is <br />improperly aligned. <br />Cool Weather Conditions - Below 65"F. <br />Cure Time - Time for a joint to completely cure after <br />it is bonded. <br />Damaged Pipe - Pipe that has been affeoted by <br />exoessive external or bending loads. <br />Glue Line - See bond line. <br />Improperly Cured Joint - Joint that is not oured. <br />Joint Baokout - A spigot that baoks out of a bell due <br />to inoomplete look up or movement at the other end <br />of the pipe. <br />Look Up - Spigot is fully engaged with the bell until <br />there is no pivot aotion in the joint. <br />Maohined Surfaoe - Area of pipe or fitting that is <br />maohined to remove the surfaoe gloss so that it may <br />be bonded. <br />Matohed Taper - The matohing tapers on a BxS or <br />T.A.B. joint. <br />Meohanioal Looking - See look up. <br />Open Seoondary Containment Piping System - A <br />seoondary piping system with ends normally open at <br />the sump and a minimum rated pressure of 5 psig <br />(35 kPa). <br />Pot Life - Time allowed to make bonds with adhesive <br />after mixed. <br />T.A.B. - Threaded and Bonded - Tapered joint with <br />shallow threads to prevent joint baok out. <br />Working Life - See pot life. <br />
