The meeting was requested by the EHD to discuss items related
to the investigative and approved remedial actions that have not been completed or conducted
at the site.
The State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) stated in their Revised 5 -Year Review
Summary Report dated May 5, 2009 that "The Fund recommends that the EHD direct the
Responsible Party to reduce monitoring and focus limited resources on active remediation.`
In response to this, the EHD, in correspondence dated June 10, 2009 modified the ground
water sampling frequency for the monitoring wells associated with this site to annual and semi-
annual sampling and requested you attend a meeting to discuss the completion of the remedial
system installation and activation of the soil vapor extraction (SVE) and ground water extraction
(GWE) interim remedial action plans that were approved by the EHD on February 1 and
February 27, 2007.
It was discussed at the meeting that the SVE system may be activated in August 2009, that the
next priority would be conducting a soil vapor investigation, and that AGE would submit to the
EHD a schedule showing dates the following items would be completed/submitted:
1. A work plan for the soil vapor investigation and a proposal for sampling MW -1 quarterly
to evaluate the effectiveness of the SVE system.
2. Calculations for estimates of the current sorbed and dissolved contaminant masses.
3. A work plan for and installation of monitoring wells with screened intervals between 40
feet below ground surface (' bgs) and 100' bgs.
5.
